COUNSELING
CLASS
1:30-3:30 PM on Mondays, starting
January 15th, 2007.
This group was started in
2005 primarily for the staff
and interns of the Women’s
Refuge, but due to the interest
of other women outside the Refuge, the class was opened to any
woman who felt the call from God to biblically counsel other
women.
SHELTER
FROM THE STORM:
This s a group for female survivors
of sexual abuse. Shelter from the storm offers hope and healing
as it examines -
the false beliefs about abuse
- the overwhelming effects
of abuse on the life of its survivors
- the process of grieving the
pain of sexual abuse and of learning to let go of the past
- the process of reclaiming
trust, control and intimacy
- the road to recovery through
the Word of God
- the path, with God's help,
from victim to survivor to thriver.

OVERCOMERS is a group for women struggling with any life controlling addictions.
The group meets on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm and is currently
working through the workbook Breaking the Cycle of Hurtful Experiences
by Robert McGee
BIPOLAR
DISORDER SUPPORT GROUP
This group is ongoing, call us if you are interested.
This group was started in 2006
with the fervent hope and prayer that those women who are suffering
with Bipolar Disorder (Manic-Depression) could benefit by coming
together once a week for some healthy, practical Christian teachings,
along with supporting each other in their daily struggles.
ANGER
MANAGEMENT
This is a six week progressive
program starting Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 - 10 to 12 Noon
(Wednesdays). Anger is also progressive. The purpose of this
class is to learn to deal with problems through thinking stead
of emotionally reacting. An emotional reaction is instinctive,
resulting from something we view as dangerous or unpleasant.
A thinking reaction is a response that is based on a plan resulting
in a positive outcome.

BIBLE STUDY
8:30-10:00 AM Fridays.
This study was started in 1997
for the sole intent of glorifying God and edifying the body of
Christ with the Word of God. Women from the community are invited.
ADDICTIONS
GROUP

This group
attempts to create a safe environment where you can share your
struggles and secretes relating to Chemical Dependency. The
book, Conquering Chemical Dependency,
(by Robert McGee and Dale
W. Mc Cleskey)is a resource that will help explain the causes
and effects of addiction to chemical substances and will apply
Biblical truths to help bring about a profound and lasting change
in the lives of many!
WORSHIP
NIGHTS is on Friday night from 7:00pm-9:00pm. We allow
the Holy Spirit to lead this time of intimate worship with the
Lord. We are learning to glorify God with our lives, and that
we are to worship Him in all that we do. We praise and worship
music and there is time of sharing what the Lord is doing. We
also listen to testimonies of God's hand
on the lives of people around
the world.

THE PROBLEM WITH ANGER AND DEPRESSION AND GOD’S SOLUTION.
Friday, August 22 and Saturday August 23
We feel we have a lot to offer through Christ’s life and we are presenting it in an interesting format. It will be held at The Indian River Shores Community Center, where there will also be special prices for you to stay overnight if you’d like to make this a time of reflection and quiet time with the Lord. If you do not wish to stay overnight you may just attend the sessions.
Sign up individually or gather a group of friends to attend. The deadline to sign up is August 12
th, and seating is limited. You may call us at our office number

Our 11th Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament
Support The Women's Refuge by joining us for our 11th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 25th, 2008. Registration is $80.00 which includes: 18 holes of golf, golf cart, breakfast, lunch and a door prize ticket.
We have great prizes available from businesses in the community that support us. Call us at 770.4424 to sign up to play, or get a foursome together to make it more fun. We would be grateful if you have a prize to give away from your business, or be a tee sponsor to advertise your business. We'd be honored and blessed to have you involved. Tee sponsorships are $200.00 which includes a free sign to advertise your business at one of the tees, brochures passed out if you'd like, and each golfer receiving your name in their packet. Get involved or come join us. You will not be disappointed if you attend because of the food, fun, and prizes you will win.
Luncheons
One of the best ways to find
out what the the Refuge is all about is to come to a luncheon.
We have luncheons twice a month except in the summer when we
have only one a month. They are held on the first and third Wednesday
of each month from 12-1:30pm. While lunch is served the staff
and residents share their personal testimonies, the history of
the Refuge, and the vision that God has given for the future
