 DONNA
ROBART – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Donna Lee Robart is the Executive Director and Founder of
the Women's Refuge of Vero Beach. Donna is a Registered Nurse
graduate of DeKalb College of Georgia having earned Psychiatric
and Gerontology Certificates. She studied Human Services,
Counseling, and Social Work at Gaston, Livingston, and the
University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Donna has attended
classes in Christian counseling with Jay Adams, Larry Crabb,
and David Russ, and became a certified Exchange Life Counselor
through Grace Ministries, International in Georgia.
Having
spent over 20+ years as a psychiatric registered nurse, Donna
left this field to go full-time into Christian counseling
with Life Exchange Ministries in Vero Beach, Florida. After
two years, she and her husband, Ted, and other interested
friends, opened up a home for women. Donna has had numerous
opportunities to invite many other people into her own home
over the past 25 years, where she has shared with them a philosophy
based on the Scriptures and personal responsibility. For five
years she and her husband had a home for 70+ children (mostly
teens, but not all at the same time!).
She has
traveled as a short-term missionary to Mexico, India, Africa,
and Romania (eight times) where she taught the women about
their freedom in the Lord. It is her vision to see many women
come through the Refuge into lives set free to love God and
serve others.
