This year was the13th Physician Symposium and Luncheon at Quail Valley RiverClub. It was the second largest number of attendees. We grossed just under $16,000.00; thanks to our physicians, sponsors, businesses who contributed raffle prizes and to all who attended this informative and gala event. Dr. Durkin, Dr. Becker's partner, took over this year as moderator. He did a great job! We are, also, pleased that he has graciously agreed to continue offering this important Physicians' Symposium to the women in our community. And, of course, we are very grateful to Dr. Ferdinand Becker for his originating the idea of the Symposium, and for his continued support of the Women's Refuge.Sponsors for the event were: Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Center, Croom Construction Company, Claire Evans, Thomas Garrott Foundation, Indian River Medical Center, The McCabe Foundation, Anna Nichols, Perkins Medical Supply, Karen Schaefer, and Steven's Printing. They offered updates in their fields of expertise, and answered questions presented to them from the attendees. What a privilegeto have these people partner with us so the Refuge can continue to bless others through the residential program, our counseling center, and support groups.We would love see more newcomers next year, but sign up early!
